My involvement with the Bremen Chamber of Commerce

I have been a member of the Bremen Chamber of Commerce’s Committee for IT, Media and Communication since 2022.

Together with colleagues from the industry, I am committed to addressing issues such as securing a skilled workforce, digitalisation, data protection and the further development of the regional media and IT landscape.

The committee provides a valuable platform for dialogue with experts from the worlds of business and academia, and helps to further advance the digital economy in Bremen and Bremerhaven.

Industry Trends 2025

Committee on IT, Media and Communication

In February, we explored with experts from academia and industry how small and medium-sized enterprises can successfully implement innovations – even without their own R&D departments. The insights provided valuable impetus for digital transformation.

In May, at the Digital Hub Industry, we discussed why Germany often fails to realise its technological potential – particularly in AI. The discussions highlighted how SMEs can overcome obstacles and make more targeted use of new technologies.

In November, the focus shifted to IJCAI-ECAI 2026: the largest AI conference Bremen has ever hosted. The plans presented highlighted the huge potential for businesses and schools, as well as for positioning Bremen as an international hub for innovation.

AI Summer 2026 in Bremen

As part of the IJCAI-ECAI 2026 AI conference, which is being hosted in Bremen, a series of public events is to take place in the city centre.
